Welcome to Granville Street! Eclectic and electric.

Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Granville Street is situated on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Vancouver’s downtown Granville Street area is a unique entertainment district with a rich cultural history, known for its neon signs and iconic venues. This area of Granville Street is a central hub for arts, music and live performance, along with retail, office space, hotels, theatres, night clubs and dining establishments.

Downtown Granville Street has faced challenges over the years, but it remains full of opportunities. We’re working with community partners, residents, visitors, businesses, and others to bring forward new ideas and a fresh approach to help reinvigorate the area.

Thanks to all of those who shared your thoughts on proposed directions for downtown Granville Street during our latest phase of public engagement which ran from February 4 to February 23.

Next steps

Staff will review and summarize your responses and share an engagement summary in the coming weeks. Your feedback, combined with other inputs, will be used to finalize the plan directions which will be shared with the public and presented to Council in early June.
