You’ve helped shape our priorities and now it’s time to choose what you want for your future.

From November 2019 to August 2020 you helped us to understand your challenges and identify what matters most to you and your communities. We would like to thank you for all of your contributions to this first phase of Planning Vancouver Together, which we’ve summarized online and created a detailed Council report.

We have now launched Phase 2 of our public engagement to develop the Vancouver Plan.

Envision the Future offers everyone the opportunity to explore the 10 Provisional Goals for the Vancouver Plan. The Goals reflect the 12,000 community perspectives we heard during the Listen and Learn Phase 1 of public engagement, such as increasing unaffordability, greater inequity, eroding trust in government, and many becoming anxious for future generations in Vancouver. As the planning process moves forward to conversations on choices and trade-offs, these goals will guide policy development and, ultimately, the Vancouver Plan to be delivered in 2022.

There will be many opportunities to participate in the coming months, and we've started by listing a few for you in the "Engage with us!" box on the right side of this page.

Planning Vancouver Together is a long-term planning initiative to create a city-wide plan to help guide community recovery and long-term planning on these traditional unceded lands we call Vancouver. In response to COVID-19, this planning initiative has also been helping to identify and advance shorter-term actions to help communities recover.

  • Hosted in partnership between Vancouver Plan and Simon Fraser University (SFU), The Future We Want: The Change We Need, is a free online dialogue series which brings together new and varied perspectives and ideas to shape the future we want.

During each event, participants were asked poll questions which we've made available in this survey for those who weren't able to make it and participate. The first introductory event Planning for a Post-Pandemic City, did not have poll questions but you can still view the video recording and all other events here
