Launch of Phase 3 Public Engagement
We are sharing three design concepts for the Redesign of Chinatown Memorial Square. Three design concepts were created and shaped by what we have heard from the community, interest holders, and people from across Vancouver. Your feedback on the three design concepts will help us develop a final design concept.
In previous engagements, you shared these priorities:
- Improve Chinatown Memorial Square as a special place that celebrates Chinatown’s rich culture and living traditions.
- Highlight significant moments in the community’s history and its resilience and strength.
- Make the Square a flexible, safe, and welcoming pace for all people to connect and celebrate.
- Provide a mix of fixed and movable seating, trees for shade, lighting, and improved maintenance.
- Develop a long-term plan for taking care of the space.
