We want your feedback on public space and street upgrades at the future Broadway Subway Station blocks. As part of the subway construction, the station blocks are being redesigned to accommodate subway infrastructure, including ventilation grilles and emergency exits.
The Broadway Subway will change how people move to and from the Broadway corridor by extending the Millennium Line SkyTrain to Arbutus Street. We have an opportunity to reimagine Broadway as a Great Street by reallocating space towards improved public space. This provides opportunities to improve the experience of walking and rolling on the street, while accommodating necessary station vents and exits, and the large number of people expected to use the subway stations.
While the location of critical subway infrastructure along Broadway is fixed, we are looking for feedback on various street design elements that will enhance the area around the future station blocks.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and public health measures, virtual open houses are running between May 18 and June 15, 2021.
