The City of Vancouver has received an application to amend the CD-1 (363) (Comprehensive Development) District By-law to permit a 250-room floating hotel next to the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre (VCEC).
The hotel is in the form of a vessel with six decks and contains a publicly accessible restaurant, bar, shops, and viewing deck. A public dock with commercial spaces are proposed on the west side of the hotel.
The proposed floor area is 15,053 sq. m (140,975 sq. ft.) and the proposed height is 19.5 m (64 ft.) above the waterline. Parking and bicycle spaces are provided in the existing facilities at the VCEC.
Application drawings and statistics are posted as-submitted to the City. Following staff review, the final project statistics are documented within the referral report.
