The Marpole Community Plan designates several sites close to the Marine Drive Station for affordable housing.

Non-profit and co-op sites make up approximately 2% of all sites in RM-4, RM-4N, and RM-3A zoning districts. On average, we see less than one application for development of non-market housing in these areas annually.

In 2015 I was told the city had done a study of all blocks in the city without a sidewalk (over 2000 of them) and this block was ranked in the top 10 of highest priority to receive one. (criteria included proximity to parks, schools, transit etc).
