In Fall 2018 we launched the Regulation Redesign project to create a more user-friendly and up-to-date Zoning and Development By-law. It is a project to simplify the City of Vancouver's land use regulations, policies and online tools to support the streamlining of permit processing. This webpage provides a one-stop location where you can learn about the project progress, share your input and stay up to date on engagement opportunities.

Council approved changes that will make it easier to find and use information contained within the Zoning and Development By-law on July 5, 2022. The new By-law will be in effect in mid-November.
We will be hosting By-law orientation sessions in the fall. Check back for updates and to sign-up to attend a session.

From April 22 to May 6, 2022 the Draft Updated Zoning and Development By-law survey was open. Thank you for sharing your input.
Your feedback, combined with other feedback, will be made public and included in the engagement summary report to Council in June 2022. Please monitor our Shape Your City webpage and Regulation Redesign project page for updates.

Draft Updated Zoning and Development By-law Presentation
