Chinatown Memorial Square Redesign Phase 3: Proposed Design Concepts Survey

We want to improve Chinatown Memorial Square as a vibrant and inter-generational public space. The new design will be flexible, accessible and inclusive. It will also enhance the cultural and historic character of the neighbourhood.

Three design concepts were created and shaped by what we have heard from the community, interest holders, and people from across Vancouver.  Your feedback on the three design concepts will help us develop a final design concept.

Share your feedback
Each design concept includes unique furniture, plants, and other design elements. We’d like to hear your thoughts:

  • What elements do you like most about each design concept?
  • Which design elements best reflect Chinatown’s identity, history, and cultural heritage?
  • Is there anything you would change or want us to consider?

We want to hear from you!

  • This survey will take 10-20 minutes to complete.
  • The survey will remain open until Wednesday April 30, 2025
  • Your responses will be confidential.

Before you start! (see information boards 1 to 8)

All of the proposed design concepts include these elements:

  • Larger plaza with new curbs and curb ramps
  • New trees within the plaza
  • New lighting
  • New plaza furniture
  • New paving
  • New commemorative Plaques
