What’s happening?

We’re working to implement quick-build traffic calming measures in the Killarney neighbourhood through the Neighbourhood Traffic Management Program. The project area is bounded by Boundary Road, E 49th Avenue, Kerr/Rupert Street and Kingsway Street. The focus of this project is on local streets, the boundary streets as well as E 41st Avenue and Joyce Street are out of scope.

We are engaging with community to help assess, design and implement quick-build traffic calming measures.

Traffic calming refers to physical changes on a street to slow traffic down, reduce shortcutting and improve safety for all road users. Learn more about our proposed traffic calming measures by reading our information boards. Our Phase one engagement period was from Wednesday, February 19 to Friday, March 28, 2025.

Next Steps

In February and March 2025 we engaged the community to help identify traffic issues. Thank you to everyone who gave feedback through the survey, email and in person events. We will analyze the feedback and share findings in spring/ summer 2025.

Later in 2025 we will share our proposed traffic calming plan. This will include approaches for Tyne Street and E 45th Avenue. We will be seeking your input on this proposal to help refine and finalize the measures. Traffic calming measures will begin implementation in summer 2026.
