Back by Popular Demand: My City My Neighbourhood Mapping Workshops

In March, we held a series of online mapping workshops that allowed participants to create a digital map of places they use and love: favourite shops and cafes, cultural centres, parks, and any other important spots. The sessions further invited people to explore the idea of neighbourhood boundaries, identity, connections, and emotional landscape.

Dates for a second round of workshops have just been scheduled:

  • Monday, April 19 @ 6pm* - REGISTER
  • Tuesday, April 20 @ 6pm* - RESCHEDULED (DATE TBD)
  • Wednesday, April 28 @ 2pm* - REGISTER
  • Saturday, May 1 @ 10am - REGISTER

Register for a session today and pinpoint the things that make your part of Vancouver unique, and shape your experience of living there.

Participants will work individually in these workshops, with the support of the facilitator. Workshops are about 90-120 minutes and feature a series of guided mapping exercises using the City’s Shape Your City platform. The event will be broadcast using Cisco Webex. Registration for both Shape Your City and Webex are free.

*ASL will be available for sessions on April 19th, April 20th, and April 28th with the May 1st session to be determined.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: Workshops in other languages will be scheduled shortly. For further information on these events, please email neighbourhoods@vancouver.ca.

BONUS: All participants in our My City My Neighbourhood mapping workshops will be entered in a random draw. Three $150 Support Local BC gift cards are available to be won!
