Share your thoughts on the 2022 Budget

Each year City staff prepare an annual operating budget for City Council’s consideration and we want your feedback on:

  • Priorities for City spending
  • Ideas for how the City can deliver a balanced budget and still maintain the programs and services most important to you

There are multiple ways you can be involved:

Financial impacts from the pandemic

  • The City faced significant revenue losses in 2020 and again in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and there will be lasting financial impacts.
  • With lower than normal revenue and increased costs, spending in the 2022 Budget will be limited. This makes your priorities for City spending more important than ever.

A property tax increase for next year is needed just to keep the City running

  • The City’s costs go up every year, even if we are not making improvements to programs and services
  • Council has voted that the property tax increase for next year should be no more than 5%. City Council may need to decide where to spend less in next year’s budget, and that could impact public programs and services.
