Traffic calming implementation plan

Following engagement with community members in 2023, a refined traffic calming plan (PDF, 7.2 MB) has been developed. Based on what we heard from the community, we:

  • Adjusted the types and locations of traffic calming measures
  • Added additional measures to lower vehicle speeds, like speed humps
  • Reworked diversionary measures to simplify access to community destinations while still discouraging shortcutting
  • Added pedestrian safety improvements like painted or raised crossings

Traffic calming measures are expected to start implementation in fall 2024 and will be monitored, adjusted or removed if needed. Changes to Adanac Street (Boundary Road to Rupert Street) are expected to start sometime after 2026. Local residents will be engaged on a more advanced design prior to construction.
