The Director of Planning approved the application on March 15, 2023, subject to conditions.  A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents"


Birmingham & Wood Architects Planners has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to alter and convert this existing one-family dwelling to a Multiple Conversion Dwelling (Building 1) containing two dwelling units and, to develop an infill single detached house (Building 2) at the rear of the site, for a total of three dwelling units, providing two parking spaces having vehicular access from the lane, consisting of:

  • A proposed height of approximately 29 ft./ 8.8 m for the Multiple Conversion Dwelling building
  • A proposed height of approximately 24.6 ft./ 7.5 m for the Infill building
  • A proposed Floor Space Ratio of 0.85 for the site (approximately 3,453 sq.ft./ 321 m²)
  • Two vehicle parking spaces, having access from the lane

Under the site’s existing RT-5 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
