8002 Granville St (DP-2021-00385) cannabis retail development application

An appeal was heard by the Board of Variance on September 7, 2021 and was ALLOWED, thereby overturning the decision of the Director of Planning.  A Development Permit was issued on September 23, 2021.


La Canapa Boutique has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to perform interior alterations and to change the use from Retail Store to Cannabis Store, in this existing mixed-use building, consisting of:

  • A floor area of approximately 1,452 sq. ft.
  • Hours of operation from 10 am to 11 pm, 7 days a week
  • This Development Permit is a relocation from 7959 Granville St (DP-2020-00768)

Under the site’s existing C-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
