8002 Granville St (DP-2021-00385) cannabis retail development application

The Director of Planning has requested you be advised that this application was considered on July 29, 2021, and was refused. 

It should be noted, however, that the applicant has the right to appeal this decision of refusal to the Board of Variance in accordance with the provisions of the Vancouver Charter.


La Canapa Boutique has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to perform interior alterations and to change the use from Retail Store to Cannabis Store, in this existing mixed-use building, consisting of:

  • A floor area of approximately 1,452 sq. ft.
  • Hours of operation from 10 am to 11 pm, 7 days a week
  • This Development Permit is a relocation from 7959 Granville St (DP-2020-00768)

Under the site’s existing C-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
