The Director of Planning approved the application on June 27, 2024, subject to conditions.  A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents"


BattersbyHowat Architects has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to develop on this site:

  • To develop a certified passive single detached house with attached two-car garage
  • To develop lavender harvesting and oil distilling operation housed in a one-storey accessory building
  • Two-car garage having vehicular access from the Balaclava Street

Under the site’s existing RA-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
