Why engage?

Community engagement is a general term for any process that involves community input in decision making. The focus of engagement is usually to share information with and gather input from those who may have an interest in a proposed initiative.

As a community member, it gives you an opportunity to participate directly in making City decisions that interest or affect you:

An Engaged City brings people together for conversations to address issues of common importance… It involves people in the decision-making process such that it improves the resulting decision and, over time, builds the trust that is needed for fully empowered communities to actively create a common future.
