On June 12, we installed our first pop-up plaza at E 27th Ave and Fraser St. We’ll be installing more in the coming weeks. Ongoing monitoring, along with public feedback and guidance from the Provincial Health Officer, will help us improve these spaces over time. It will also help us determine whether any of these temporary plazas should remain in place after the recovery period.

Temporary pop-up plazas are one of the steps we're taking to help residents and businesses adapt to living and operating through a pandemic.
A big part of our recovery plan involves re-purposing road space to give people more room to resume community life and access local businesses.
We’re transforming streets to create public space for walking and cycling, seating, and other activities, so people can do the things they need and like to do, while also practicing physical distancing.
