Our Draft 2021 Budget is now available

Each year City staff prepare an annual operating and capital budget and five-year financial plan for City Council’s consideration. Over the summer and into the early fall, we’ve received various forms of input on your priorities for spending and your opinions about how the City manages its finances on your behalf.

We thank everyone for their input and interest in our annual budget engagement process. The 2021 Budget Engagement Report is now ready for viewing.

THIS TOOL IS NOW CLOSED - thank you for your interest and we hope to hear from you again soon.

‘Balance the Budget’ with our new online tool

Show us how you would balance the budget with our new, interactive tool. You can increase or decrease funding for different City service areas as you wish, but you still need to maintain a balanced budget (we are required by law to do so). Staff and Council will consider the public’s input from the tool as Budget 2021 is developed.

    Using the tool, you can:

    1) Change the way money is spent
The spending section allows you to increase or decrease the amount of money that is spent on certain items.
    2) Change the way money is brought in
The revenue section allows you to increase or decrease the amount of money coming from different sources.
