We have important work to do together to shape a city that all of us can thrive in. We invite you to join us in our online town hall on Thursday September 24th from 6 PM until 8 PM.

Join facilitator Vanessa Richards, community activist, City Manager Sadhu Johnston and General Manager of Arts, Culture and Community Services, Sandra Singh, for a collaborative town hall with Black and African diaspora community members. This town hall provides us with time and space to discuss next steps to fulfill community requests and tackle anti-Black racism together.

We are inviting and focusing our attention at this town hall on Black and African diaspora community members to centre their perspectives and voices through this event.

Members of the Black and African diasporic communities who want to actively participate in the town hall can do so by emailing us at equity@vancouver.ca to receive an invite link.

All other residents are encouraged to watch the livestream on our YouTube channel. There will be ASL interpreters present during the WebEx session and captioning will be available on YouTube.

We encourage town hall participants to share your questions and comments in advance. This will ensure that as many perspectives can be are heard as possible. Questions can be submitted prior to the event in two ways:

We are committed to answering all questions that we receive. Any questions that we are not able to answer during in the town hall session due to time constraints will be responded to via email after the event.

To create a safer space, where all participants are able to share their opinions openly and be part of a productive discussion, we ask that all comments are respectful and invite contributors to be polite, stay on topic, and not cause intimidation or offence.

We look forward to hearing from you and the opportunities for change and collaboration that will transpire through our time together.
