8709 Cartier St (DP-2018-00043) development application

The Director of Planning approved the application on April 27, 2022, subject to conditions.  A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents"


Matthew Cheng Architect Inc. has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to develop the following on this site:

  • A new three-storey plus basement, multiple dwelling consisting of ten units, including six secured market rental units, over one level of underground parking having vehicular access from the lane
  • A proposed FSR of 1.34 (8,737.00 sq. ft.)
  • A proposed height of 35.00 ft.

Under the site’s existing RM-3A zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
