8602 Granville St (DP-2020-00655) cannabis retail development application

The Director of Planning has requested you be advised that this application was considered on November 18, 2020, and was refused.  It should be noted, however, that the applicant has the right to appeal this decision of refusal to the Board of Variance in accordance with the provisions of the Vancouver Charter.

This appeal was heard by the Board of Variance on December 15, 2020 and was ALLOWED, thereby overturning the decision of the Director of Planning.  A Development Permit was issued on February 16, 2021.

Lightbox Enterprises Ltd. has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to change the use, at the above noted address, to a Retail Cannabis Store consisting of:

  • Interior alterations and change of use from Retail Store to a Cannabis Retail Store
  • Proposed hours of operation: 9 am – 11 pm, seven days a week
  • Approximately 2,361.00 sq. ft.

Under the site’s existing C-2 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
