6855 Cypress St (DP-2021-00317) development application

The Development Permit Board approved the application on July 21, 2021, subject to conditions.  A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents".


Design Work Group Ltd has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to develop the following on this site:

  • To alter and convert this existing one-family character dwelling to a three-unit Multiple Conversion Dwelling (Building 1) with:
    • A total height of approximately 29.5 ft.
    • A total Floor Space Ratio of 0.62 (approximately 5,400 sq. ft.)
  • To develop a one-and-half-storey one-family (Infill) dwelling (Building 2) on the rear portion of the site with:
    • A total height of approximately 25 ft.
    • A total Floor Space Ratio of 0.23 (approximately 2,000 sq. ft.)
  • Three parking spaces provided on site, two stalls having vehicular access from the lane and one existing parking stall having vehicular access from Cypress Street

Under the site’s existing RS-6 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
