The Director of Planning has requested you be advised that this application was considered on August 27, 2021, and was refused.  

It should be noted, however, that the applicant has the right to appeal this decision of refusal to the Board of Variance in accordance with the provisions of the Vancouver Charter.


ABC Montessori Child Care Centre has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to develop the following on this site:

  • To change the use of the existing one-family dwelling to a Child Care Facility containing 25 children (aged 30 - 60 months)
  • A Floor Space Ratio of 2,635 sq. ft. and same height (no change to existing building)
  • Three parking spaces at the rear of the building

Under the site’s existing RT-2 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
