The Director of Planning has requested you be advised that this application was considered on December 21, 2023, and was refused.  It should be noted, however, that the applicant has the right to appeal this decision of refusal to the Board of Variance in accordance with the provisions of the Vancouver Charter.

HL Design and Construction Ltd. has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to perform interior alterations and change of use from a Single Detached House with a Secondary Suite to a Child Day Care Facility for 16 children, in this existing Residential building, consisting of:

  • A floor area of approximately 2,246.20 sq. ft.
  • Retain the existing Laneway House
  • Proposed hours of operation: 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday
  • One on-site parking space provided

Under the site’s existing RS-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
