The Director of Planning approved this application, and a Development Permit was issued on December 12, 2022.


Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to change the use from retail and dwelling uses to Social Services Centre, in this existing building, consisting of:

  • A floor area of approximately 2,571 sq. ft.
  • Hours of operation for food service from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, two days a week

Under the site’s existing DEOD zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
