1943-1999 E Hastings St rezoning application

We would like your feedback on a rezoning application at 1943-1999 E Hastings St. The proposal is to allow for the development of an eight-storey mixed-use building. The zoning would change from MC-2 (Industrial) District to CD-1 (Comprehensive Development) District. This proposal includes:

  • 131 market strata units
  • A floor space ratio (FSR) of 4.01
  • A floor area of 10,857 sq. m (116,863 sq. ft.)
  • A building height of 26.32 m (86.4 ft.)
  • 169 vehicle parking spaces and 300 bicycle parking spaces

The application is being considered under the Grandview Woodland Community Plan.

An in-person community open house was held on October 17, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Xpey Elementary School Gymnasium (1950 E Hastings St).



Online Public Hearing: Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 6:00 pm

This Public Hearing is to be convened by electronic means as authorized by Ministerial Order No. M192, "Local Government Meetings and Bylaw Process (COVID-19) Order No. 3".

Due to COVID-19, a Public Health Order currently prohibits members of the public from attending the City’s Public Hearings in person. Members of the public can listen and watch the proceedings via the City’s website or follow Twitter @VanCityClerk. Speakers can participate by telephone or by providing written submissions.
