The Director of Planning approved the application on March 18, 2024, subject to conditions.  A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents"


Jonathan Ehling Architect Inc. has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to perform interior and exterior alterations and convert this existing Rooming House having one principal dwelling, seven sleeping units, and three housekeeping units (total of four dwelling units) to a Multiple Conversion Dwelling (Building 1) containing three dwelling units and, to develop an Infill single detached house (Building 2) at the rear of the site for a total of four dwelling units, consisting of:

  • Total Floor Space Ratio of 0.43 for the site (approximately 8,661 sq. ft.)
  • Proposed height of approximately 35.1 ft. (Building 1) & 26 ft. (Building 2)
  • A two-car garage attached to Building 2, plus a surface parking space, having vehicular access from the lane

Under the site’s existing FSD zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
