Public engagement over the winter showed strong support for both the proposed multiplex concept and changes to simplify and align the current zoning regulations. View a summary of the engagement.

Staff have considered public and industry feedback on the proposed changes to RS zones and have completed further analysis over the past few months to refine the proposal. The refined proposal will be considered by Council in the Fall.

  • Note: the RS housing menu shows the range of options that will be possible if Council approves the changes to add missing middle housing and simplify RS regulations.

Please note that staff will not be able to provide advice on options for specific lots until after a Public Hearing. If Council approves the proposed changes to allow multiplexes in RS zones, property owners will be able to book a meeting with staff to explore the new options.
